Thursday and Friday (April 18 & 19): LF/IP Dealmakers Forum in London — ip fray’s founder to join panel on SEP trends

By Florian Mueller, the founder of ip fray

As I announced last week, I’m helping a U.S. litigation boutique raise funds for a high-potential patent enforcement campaign (April 3, 2024 ip fray article). The more time I spend analyzing those cases, the more excited I am about the opportunity.

In that capacity, I’m going to London next week to attend the April 18-19 European Edition of the IP Dealmakers Forum at the Royal Lancaster Hotel (conference webpage). It’s a combined LF (general litigation funding) and business-of-IP (also including litigation finance) event. There is a full conference program, and 1:1 meetings take place all the time to discuss litigation finance deals, IP deals and similar transactions.

The U.S. version of that conference — created by Wendy Chou, whom many of you have probably heard of — has been a “go-to event” for some time, but there is also a lot of potential in Europe, and London is the best European venue for this topic.

If you are in the IP business or in the litigation finance business, but haven’t booked your participation yet, think about attending (event webpage).

On short notice, I’ve also been invited to join one of the conference panels. Next Friday there’ll be a discussion of “SEP policies and decisions from around the world — and what it means for dealmaking.” The panel will be moderated by UCL professor and retired UK appellate judge Sir Robin Jacob. He’s a living legend of patent law, and there are great panelists that it’s an honor for me to join.

I look forward to meeting some of my esteemed readers at that unique event!
