Fray Media, the publisher of ip fray, is growing fast. I have two separate but simultaneous announcements to make:
- IP and competition journalist Olivia Sophie Rafferty will contribute to ip fray and ai fray
- IP Dealmaking Opportunities page outlines Fray Media’s services related to litigation finance, insurance, patent transfers and licensing
1. IP and competition journalist Olivia Sophie Rafferty will contribute to ip fray and ai fray
As I consider myself more of a litigation nerd (with policy and transactional experience) than a traditional journalist, I was looking for a complementary skill set — and found it.
Olivia formerly covered IP developments in the APAC region from Hong Kong, after reporting on competition law, policy and enforcement (and related developments) in London for two years. She was also previously the assistant editor for an online magazine, has been (and will continue to be) published by various publications with a non-legal focus, and holds a degree in journalism from City, University of London.
She will now be reporting for both ip fray and ai fray (a website that has recently tripled its follower base) out of Italy. Being a fluent speaker of Italian, Olivia will sometimes attend hearings in the Unified Patent Court’s Milan-based divisions.
Olivia will operate independently, and I have asked her to simply do the best job she can for you, the readership.

Besides traditional media revenue models, Fray Media is also involved in arranging IP-related transactions. I have brought a U.S. litigation boutique together with their chosen funder, with a deal volume in the middle eight figures, and certain other transactional activities promise further results in the near term.
Please check out ip fray‘s brand new IP Dealmaking Opportunities page.
It explains what opportunities in litigation finance, litigation insurance (for both plaintiffs and defendants), patent transfers and licensing are worth telling me about (and ultimately worth sharing with my strong network). At this point I’m running the transactional part alone.
Everything that happens on the dealmaking side will be kept confidential unless the parties themselves decide, or authorize me, to disclose. And there is no better strategy to position Fray Media for dealmaking than a commitment to accurate reporting that reflects a thorough understanding of the IP business.
Note that the IP Dealmaking Opportunities page is also accessible from the menu near the top of the home page:
