Patent Litigation Europe returns for 2027, building on last year’s rebrand into three co-located tracks

Kisaco Research’s Patent Litigation Europe will be held at the Beurs van Berlage in Amsterdam from January 18 to January 20, 2027. The event returns for its 6th edition following last year’s successful rebrand into three co-located tracks: the UPC Litigation Forum (now in its 4th edition), Pharma & Biotech Patent Litigation Europe (6th edition), and Tech & Innovation Patent Litigation Europe (2nd edition), with a combined audience of over 850 attendees and 45% in-house counsel. 

The event opens on January 18 with the UPC Litigation Forum, running as a standalone day ahead of the pharma and tech tracks. Reflecting the court’s increasingly international standing, this year’s event will host two concurrent content streams: UPC Strategy & Case Law and UPC & Global Litigation Strategy. Sessions will cover the UPC Judges’ Panel, long-arm jurisdiction, preliminary injunctions, litigation funding, and more.

Pharma & Biotech Patent Litigation Europe and Tech & Innovation Patent Litigation Europe then run in parallel on January 19 and 20:

  • The pharma and biotech track includes: biosimilar disputes, secondary patents, innovator-innovator litigation, SPCs, PTEs and plausibility. 
  • The tech and innovation track includes: SEP/FRAND case law, damages and royalties, AI’s impact on IP, NPE litigation, and MedTech disputes. 

Building on last year’s momentum, 2027 adds more workshops tailored to specific industry groups, including a dedicated MedTech strand, alongside sessions on wider IP topics such as trade secrets and litigation readiness. There’s also more room built in for 1-2-1 meetings and networking this year, plus keynote judicial interviews and “Connect 27!” roundtables spanning more than 10 jurisdictions.
