Context: Nokia has been enforcing its video patents against streaming services and device makers for several years. It settled with Amazon in March 2025 through a patent agreement (March 31, 2025 ip fray article), then sued Paramount (August 22, 2025 ip fray article) and Warner Bros. Those two disputes have since expanded to the UK, where the High Court set interim payments ahead of a reasonable and non-discriminatory (RAND) trial scheduled for November 2026 (June 24, 2026 ip fray article).
