Context:
- In September 2023, Oura launched a global, multi-year patent enforcement campaign against Indian rival Ultrahuman over its smart ring product “Ring Air”. In August 2025, the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) issued an import ban against Ultrahuman (August 22, 2025 ip fray article), which the latter fired back against with its own infringement suit in the Delhi High Court (August 25, 2025 ip fray article).
- In May this year, Ultrahuman returned to the U.S. market with a redesign of its product, “Ring Pro”, which was given the green light by U.S. Customs and Border Protection in March.
