Align wins RMB 10M China injunction against Angelalign after UPC setback on related patent, parallel cases in injunction-tested Chinese venues

Context: Align Technology, a U.S.-based orthodontic medical technology company best known for its Invisalign clear aligners, and rival Angelalign Technology, a Chinese clear-aligner maker, have been fighting a multi-jurisdictional patent battle since August 2025. Align’s campaign began at the UPC on August 15, 2025, with two actions in DĂĽsseldorf. Three days later, it opened parallel fronts in the U.S. and China, filing in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas and two actions in Zhengzhou; Angelalign countersued in Beijing. The dispute has since expanded across the UPC, multiple Chinese courts, and parallel U.S. district court and United States International Trade Commission proceedings, alongside patent validity proceedings before the CNIPA and EPO (August 5, 2026 Align Technology Form 10-Q).
