Apple wins summary judgment of invalidity over Neonode patent relating to 2010s “slide-to-unlock” dispute with Samsung

Context: Neonode Smartphone LLC sued Apple in the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas in June 2020, alleging infringement of U.S. Patent No. 8,095,879 (“User interface for mobile handheld computer unit”). The following year, Apple successfully moved for the case to be transferred to the District of Northern California. In April this year, Apple filed a motion for early summary judgment of invalidity.
