Context: On Tuesday, InterDigital announced lawsuits against TCL and Hisense in the Unified Patent Court (UPC), Germany, Brazil, and India; and a U.S. lawsuit against TCL quickly became discoverable (February 10, 2026 ip fray article). InterDigital files patent infringement actions against Hisense, TCL in UPC, Germany, Brazil, India; TCL also in U.S.
InterDigital has a very successful licensing program and needs to litigate only in a minority of cases. Launching enforcement actions in four (TCL: five) jurisdictions in parallel is a strong statement.
