Context: G+ Communications, LLC, a licensing firm that owns 5G standard-essential patents (SEPs) formerly held by China’s ZTE, won a retrial verdict against Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. that more than doubled its original damages award to $142 million (April 18, 2024 ip fray article).
