- In August 2021, TwinStrand Biosciences and the University of Washington (UW) filed a complaint in the United States District Court for the District of Delaware, accusing Guardant Health of infringing several patents describing duplex sequencing methods.
- In November 2023, a jury awarded the co-plaintiffs $83.4 million in damages for willful infringement of all the remaining asserted claims, based on a reasonable royalty.
