In November 2024, Edge Networking Systems LLC sued Amazon for allegedly infringing seven of its patents in the United States District for the Eastern District of Texas. Amazon moved for summary judgment, arguing Edge lacked standing because the underlying inventions actually belonged to Cisco and Intel, the former employers of the two named inventors.
