BREAKING: Malikie Innovations dismisses Hyundai suit, pointing to probable Avanci Wi-Fi 6 license

Context: Patent assertion entity (PAE) Malikie Innovations filed a complaint in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas earlier this year, accusing South Korean automaker Hyundai of infringing a selection of IEEE 802.11 Wi-Fi standard-essential patents (SEPs) and non-SEPs. A few days later, it filed a similar complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas against Japan’s Honda, over the same set of patents (May 12, 2026 ip fray article).
