Just a brief follow-up to our November 24, 2025 article:
We have found out from a court-internal source that 2025 marked by far and away the strongest year for the Landgericht München I (Munich I Regional Court) in terms of new patent infringement complaints filed. Before Christmas, the number had already blasted past 300. The exact count should become known soon.
The successor of Presiding Judge Dr. Georg Werner (21st Civil Chamber), who will take the oath as a Unified Patent Court (UPC) judge on Monday, January 5, 2026 (October 10, 2025 ip fray article; December 23, 2025 UPC news item), may or may not have been chosen by now, and should become known soon.
