Context: “Clean energy” technologies have become increasingly contentious from an IP standpoint in recent years. Patent disputes in the solar energy sector have been fought in multiple jurisdictions, including district courts and the International Trade Commission in the United States, the Unified Patent Court in Europe, and regional courts in China and Germany (December 16, 2025 ip fray article).
